Date: Saturday, March 9th
Time: Noon to 4pm

Open House Description:
We’ll officially kick-off the 175th Anniversary festivities with a FREE community-wide open house on March 9th which is the actual date in 1838 that the Village of Romeo was officially established.
At noon, churches throughout the Village will ring their bells, letting everyone know the official 175th Anniversary celebrations have begun. Doors to the Masonic Temple will open at noon. Refreshments and anniversary cake will be served free of charge throughout the day for all to enjoy.
Guests will be able to view historical displays including the Michigan Vietnam Veteran Traveling Memorial which will include a special display prepared by the 175th Anniversary Committee on the Romeo area soldiers who lost their lives in S.E. Asia. This is the Traveling Memorial’s first ever visit to the Romeo area and we’re very excited to be able to host it as part of our celebration of Romeo’s history!
Guests will also be able to meet and get their pictures taken with Romeo’s own Jesi Foltz-Goike, Mrs. Macomb County America 2012, the current Peach Queen, Lisa Polley and runner-up, Leah Hobbs, and Ms Senior Michigan 2012, Toni Sanchez-Murphy.
Kids will be able to enjoy FREE balloon sculptures from WOWIE! The Clown and FREE face-painting from Romeo’s favorite face-painter, Donna Calhoun of An Affair to Remember.
There will also be an awesome gift basket raffle throughout the day. Raffle items include a Samsung Blu-ray disc player, three free months at Anytime Fitness and much, much more!
At 12:30 the entertainment program will begin and continue until 4:00pm.
